I have been appointed since January 2005 – in Melbourne Victoria Australia

Justices of the Peace are appointed to serve a semi-judicial function in all areas of the Victorian community. The main official roles they play in the Victorian community include witnessing statutory declarations, witnessing affidavits and mediation of disputes . A Justice is appointed by the Attorney General and is considered an honourable  person in the Victorian Community.
